They make some pretty amazing red wines in Argentina, especially in Mendoza and the Uco Valley.? This is one to take note of, and while it is a bit young right now, it will be absolutely stunning in a few years.
Wine:? 2015 Felipe Staiti? Vertigo
Winery Location: ? Mendoza, Argentina
Tasted By: ? Neil & Cheri ? ? ? ?? Date: ? ?? Decemer 2019
Tasting Notes: ? Marcelo Pelleriti is a rock star producer in Mendoza, and was the first Latin American winemaker to ever get a 100 point score from Robert Parker. ?This particular wine is a blend of 70% Malbec, 20% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Franc.? You get lots of blueberry, and some violets.? There is earth and some red fruit.? It is big, tannic and full bodied.? I would desribe it as racy right now.? The pieces are all there, they just need a little time to fully integrate.? Certainly delicious now, this will be even better after a year or two in the cellar (if you can wait that long!).
Price Point – ?? we paid $25, and it is a steal there.
Would We Buy It? – ?? Absolutely!? This is a great wine that is going to get even better.
Sometimes you find $50 bottles for $25, which is what happened here.? We’ll take that deal anytime.
A votre santé!
