Good Value Merlot from Chateau Ste. Michelle

Chateau Ste. Michelle is a very dependable producer, and their Indian Wells line offers rich, robust reds (along with a Charonnay)?which deliver?a lot of body, color and depth.? The wines are from warm weather vineyards east of the mountains in Washington.? Here is one we recently ordered by the glass at lunch in Newport, at The Moorings.

Indian Wells MerlotWine: ?2012 Chateau Ste Michelle Indian Wells Merlot???

    Winery Location:?? Washington State

    Tasted By:????Neil & Cheri?????????????????????????? Date:???? August 2015

Tasting Notes:? really dark purple/black. Inky. Dark fruit on the nose and lots of spice. On the palate you get jammy blackberry, spice and a touch of anise. It’s full bodied and long, which is pretty typical of the Indian Wells line. This is good juice.

    Price Point – ???about $15

Would We Buy It? ???we would.? This is deep, rich and long.? If you like full bodied reds, and especially Merlots, you’ll like this.

The Chateau Ste. Michelle Indian Wells line is always a good bet for a decent value bottle of wine.? Try the Cab as well.

    A votre sante!
